yay for friday

I’m heading up to British Columbia tomorrow morning. I am so excited for the run and to explore Victoria as an adult.

These photos I am sharing are outtakes from a roll of doubles… some times, things just don’t work out and we only get one photo in the image. Somehow, with this roll, I took over. These shots were taking during a weekend trip my boyfriend and I took with my younger brother and his wife up to Seattle for a pre-season Seahawks game. It’s so awesome to relive those times through these photos. We had a lot of fun.

. . .

Here are a couple of notable things I found…

1
Beautiful, stacking wine glasses? Be still my heart. Makes me want to drink more wine this autumn.
{I feel a little sheepish sharing things to buy on here but we all have wish-lists now, don’t we?}

2
How cool are these old letterheads? Makes me want to write more letters.

We’ll be taking a ferry up to Victoria tomorrow. It’s one of the things I am most excited about.
So here is a glimpse of a ferry trip through the eyes of Rachel of the blog elephantine.
I promise to take lots of photos along the trip and share them with you here.
. . .

I hope you have a great weekend!

words

As many of you know, I participate in a photography project called Words to Shoot By. Every couple of weeks we shoot three new photos (in any format) interpreting a word. We had a special post today that had our normal crew plus 16 guests! I have to say, it’s one of the most beautiful posts I have seen in a while.

Below are the three images I contributed for today’s post. Our word was water. I made these images with my Olympus OM-2n, 50mm 1.8 lens, and Kodak Ektar 100 film at the end of August while boating across the ever gorgeous Redfish Lake in Idaho. Such a lovely place.

This was a really fun one to shoot for! Now go check out everybody else’s!

friday bits

happy friday, folks! I hope you have a lovely summer weekend!

Here are three photos from a trip I took to the coast in early June. { photos made with my Olympus OM-2n 35mm film camera }

Here are three fun things that I hope you enjoy!

. . .

1

I just started running again using THE COUCH-TO-5K® RUNNING PLAN. I am really enjoying it. It’s a really reasonable plan, just 30 minutes/3 times a week. It’s tough at times but really wonderful too. I love pushing myself, working up a sweat, and the time alone. We have had really beautiful weather lately so that has helped too. I like to get up a little earlier than usual and enjoying that morning light and coolness. If you are looking for a way to get back into working out and don’t mind running, I recommend you give this plan a try.

2

I love reading. In my early twenties, I took MAX (Portland’s light rail) to work everyday and I loved having that time to read. Here is an awesome (and growing) collection of photos of people reading on the NYC subways. It’s always fun to see what other people are reading :: UNDERGROUND NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY.

3

Have you seen THE HERRIOTT GRACE FILM? It’s a beautiful short film (~30 minutes) about the story of a father-daughter relationship behind the small business of Herriott Grace. It’s beautifully filmed and a touching story.

. . .

See you again soon! If you got a minute, please say hi in the comments. I love hearing from my blog visitors! Do you like these kind of posts? Should I keep doing them or just stick to my photo stories? Thanks for visiting.
